MEET CHASE STELL

Chase Stell for Hapeville City Council Ward 2

Hi neighbor! I’m Chase Stell, and Hapeville isn’t just where I live. It’s home. It’s where I grew up hearing stories of my mom working the counter at my grandfather’s pharmacy, The Hapeville Drug Company, which used to be located downtown on North Central. It’s where we spent Christmas at my great-grandmother’s house on Sunset Avenue for many years. The people and places of Hapeville helped shape me — and I’m running for City Council to give back to our wonderful community.

I’m running for Hapeville City Council because I believe local government should work for people. That means safe streets, fair taxes, access to essentials like groceries and green spaces — and a local culture that supports the arts and celebrates who we are.

I studied international affairs and public administration right here in Georgia, and I work in clean transportation — helping cities across the country become more livable, connected, and forward-thinking. Now, I’m ready to put my experience to work right here at home. In my free time, you’ll probably find me gardening in my backyard, cooking new dishes, or catching the latest show at Hapeville’s own Academy Theatre.

I can’t wait to meet you, and I hope to earn your vote!

ISSUES OF CONCERN

  • Hapeville has the highest millage rate of any city in Fulton County — and if you pay rent or a mortgage here, you feel it! We absolutely need strong services like our own police, fire, and EMS — but I believe we can fund those while making life more affordable for everyone, from newlyweds in Signal Apartments to seniors living on fixed incomes. I will fight to lower our millage rates and property taxes!

  • I see it near my own home on North Avenue — cars speeding through stop signs and putting neighbors at risk. Whether you’re walking your kids to school, getting your steps in, or taking your dog out, safety should always be a priority. I’ll prioritize traffic calming measures that actually work -  from speed tables to illuminated stop signs - designed with each intersection and neighborhood in mind.

  • Access to fresh food shouldn’t depend on owning a car. Too many residents are underserved by our current options. I’ll work to bring in more accessible, community-focused grocery solutions so that everyone in Hapeville can shop locally — with dignity and convenience.

  • Delta and Porsche are proud to have a huge footprint in Hapeville. So are thousands of Hapeville residents, many of whom are their employees, who deserve to benefit from that presence. I’ll work to strengthen our city’s partnerships with major employers to make sure they’re investing in our people and our future.

  • From Día de los Muertos and the Butterfly Parade to public murals and mainstage performances — the arts are central to what makes Hapeville special. I’ll fight to make sure the arts aren’t just preserved, but expanded. That means protecting funding and creating new opportunities to grow our creative community.
